Olchfa School News

The weather was kind on the 4th of July and the school’s sponsored walk to Mumbles and back to the school took place as planned with pupils and staff pariticpating.  The charities that the pupils have chosen are:-

• Years 7 & 9 - Maggies Cancer Unit (Singleton Hospital),
• Year 8 - Wateraid,
• Year 10 - Mumbles Lifeboat
• Year 12 - Sixth Form Charities. 

To date £6,200 has been raised for these charities and we are delighted with the huge support and response - thank you very much

A selection of Year 8 pupils along with Assistant Head Mrs Cowley presented the SMART course to the Welsh Secondary Schools Association this week.

On the 24th October, Olchfa school showcased school bands and performances to raise money for Oxfam by holding an Oxjam event. The night raised over £630 for the charity. Not only was it a fantastic music night, there were scrumptious cakes on sale, a roulette wheel (cakes as a prize), and a face-art stall.We would like to thank all those who took part in the event, whether it was volunteering, organising, singing, playing etc… thank you!!Oxjam was run and organised by the Olchfa Activist’s Network, who meet in Rm 7 on Friday lunchtimesAll Photos shown were taken by Emily Foot, 11EE.
