Fair Trade Cake Sale for Oxfam Unwrapped

April 1st, 2009
Miss Chaudhry’s Geography classes 9JG and 9PS decided to hold a Fair Trade Cake sale selling cakes and biscuits using Fair Trade ingredients.  After a poster advertising campaign lots of delicious Banana Muffins and chocolate cakes were sold raising £70.
Both classes discussed how best to spend this money with Miss Chaudhry and decided to use the profits to buy the following from Oxfam Unwrapped as they felt these would benefit the people the most as they knew that AIDS is a big killer in Africa and that these things could help raise their quality of life:
  1. Safe water for 12 people
  2. 5 bags of seeds
  3. 10 buckets
  4. Condoms
Thanks to all pupils who purchased an item from them!
