Mind

Children and young people

Swansea Mind’s Future Minds Emotional Resilience Project is available to young people throughout the Swansea area. We have been running emotional support services for young people for over 4 years. Our current project is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

During these unprecedented times we know that it has been particularly difficult for many young people to reach out for help. Swansea Mind are offering appointment based face to face support as well as phone call and zoom session support to 11-25 year olds to allow frank and open conversations about how young people are feeling right now.

What is available?

1) Face to face one to one support for young people, parents and teachers
2) Group zoom sessions for young people
3) Group zoom sessions for parents
4) Training and workshops for parents and teachers
5) Volunteers opportunities with young people and parents

From September 2020, we will also be returning to secondary schools and community groups in the Swansea area. Please contact us if you are a school or community group and feel that this project would be of benefit. We offer a 6 weeks of emotional wellbeing support in groups to young people as well as one to one work for young people who don’t feel able to access group work for whatever reason.

If you are a young person, parent, teacher or community group worker that would like to learn more about the Future Minds project and find out how it can benefit you or the young people that you work with then please contact our YP Resilience worker.
