Learning Area Purpose

In Health and Wellbeing, our purpose is to develop lifelong healthy habits whilst igniting a passion for sport and/or exercise in our pupils.
This develops pupils’ skills, knowledge and experiences of the various forms of exercise as well as sport. It equips them with the skills and knowledge required to live a healthy, active lifestyle as they are able to make informed lifestyle choices. It also allows pupils to develop their sporting knowledge, and we offer them endless opportunities to participate and compete.

Health and Wellbeing prepares pupils for the future by educating them on how to live a healthy, active lifestyle.  We also help them plan their ‘next steps’ once finishing year 11 and prepare them for the world of work or further education.

As citizens of Wales, the UK and beyond by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to impact the lives of others.

The AoLE celebrates pupils’ sense of cynefin by providing them with opportunities to represent the school and to give back to the local community.
