Message to parents and carers 31 December 2020

Dear Parent/Carer

We have received notification from the local authority this afternoon that 'face to face' learning for all pupils in all Swansea schools will now be delayed until 11 January. It is likely that there will be a phased return for pupils in Olchfa from this date and we hope to be able to provide you with more information in the early to middle part of next week.

As you are aware, Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 January have already been designated as 'buffer' days; there will be no emergency childcare or online learning provision on these days. From Wednesday 6 January, we will provide emergency childcare for vulnerable pupils and the children (Y7 and Y8 only) of key workers; all other pupils will receive online learning from this date until they return to 'face to face' teaching in the classroom.

Further meetings are scheduled to take place at the beginning of next week and we will  update you when we have more information about the return to school. A full letter to parents from the Interim Director of Education will be sent to you on Monday 4 January.

Thank you for your continued support as we attempt to manage the challenges of the pandemic. We wish you and your loved ones a safe New Year.

Kind regards

Matt Salmon
